Breakfast alternatives
Hey everyone. Quick question.
I have been having a problem trying to get some good breakfast ideas, but have sorta hit a wall. I have been eating 1 cup of "Egg Beater" equivalent and 2 slices of non-fat cheese, and a spoonful of natty peanut butter. I am just looking for some other good ideas... since I don't really like oatmeal. On that note, do you guys/gals know of a way to make oatmeal taste better? I am all up for trying it out again, since I have had the fear since I was little! lol |

2 scoops milk isolate protein (vanilla is good), 1/2 cup blueberries and skim milk or water.
I like 1/2 cup oat bran cooked (1 1/4 cup water, boil for one minute) add 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries and then drink a one scoop protein drink too. If you don't like oatmeal you probably won't like oatbran as a hot cereal either. It's more like cream of wheat. You could add some Adkins zero carb pancake syrup but the blueberries have all kinds of good antioxidants and stuff. |

I lOVE oatmeal.. its like my comfort food.
try adding in some splenda to sweeten it, either vanilla extract, cinnamon, butterbuds flavouring, raisens(depending on your goals), sugarfree jello pudding mixes(yummy!!). you can get very creative with oats! |

Goliath posted a great breakfast for Some on a low/no carb diet. A carton of Just Whites, And a package of sugar free tang. It really aint bad. It is alot easier than eating 12 eggs.

I've tried all the damn shakes, oatmeal and whatnot. But, I just like plain ol' bacon, eggs and toast. Every man should have at least one meal where he isn't looking at food labels and counting calories. Just eat a good breakfast bro. It's liberating.

Uncle Sam's cereal is good in the morning. Certified low glycemic. I eat it with some mixed vanilla protein powder instead of milk.

I get the 99% lean... or buy the breast and have the butcher turn it in to ground turkey.
You have to read the labels... some are all breast (what I buy) and some are 15%, 10%, half and half, etc. |

When I'm rushed, I always like a cup of cottage cheese. Sodium is a little high, but first thing in the morning, that's not too bad. As far as oatmeal alternatives, I read in MD about using pasta in with an omlette. Sounded interesting, although a little labor intensive. I'm open to anything these days

Next meal is at 9:30-10:00am - 1 serving of brown rice with vegetables and lentils. I am vegetarian and natural..... |

I generally don't like eggs or oats so I just eat regular food for breakfast. Chicken breast and brown rice is good any time of the day.

I used to hate oatmeal too, but I sweeten with splenda and use cinnamin just like someone else stated above. I find that the oatmeal gives my body what it needs to make it to meal #2 without being hungry (remember, never eat when you are hungry).
If I eat something like a protein shake and fruit, my body will incinerate that stuff almost instantly and I am STARVING an hour later. |

After reading this post this morning figured I'd try to be creative and make a breakfast meal. I mixed up 2 scoops of vanilla protein powder, 3 egg whites, a few drops of vanilla, a little cinnamon, about 3/4 to 1 cup of oats and a little water, cooked it in skilled in 4 portions and when I flipped them I sprinkled a little butter buds on each one, served it with some mashed up blueberries...hubby says I should add it to the repertoire.

For breakfast I usually have 4 egg whites with 1/2 cup oatmeal w/ a packet of splenda and cinnamon mixed in. Another alternative to add to it is sugarfree brown sugar (like brown splenda) maybe some walnuts and/or cranberries to put in a little extra flavor. Sometimes if I am craving something on the sweeter side in the morning I have a sugar-free Jello - 10 calories!
