Post workout meal

What should your post workout meal consist of after cardio? I know you need both protein and carbs after weight training, but I wasn't sure if the same applied to a 'cardio' workout. Thanks for your feed back.

IMO it would be very similar. Of course, the quantities may be different if you are cutting instead of bulking, but that would be about it.

depending on the exertion level you should replensih your muscle glucose with simple carbs and use your low blood sugarlevels before to ingest the protein with the simple carbs to shuttle the nutrients to your muscle. so yes.

IMO, cardio should not be done right after working out. Cardio reaps the most benefits when done on an empty stomach or after your last meal. If you do cardio right after a workout, it's possible to burn muscle. Seeing as how you just banged it, and your body is working overtime to repair the muscle you just broke down. Sorry to thread jack, just my .02.
As for post-workout meal, the caloric intake should not be as high as it would for a weight training post workout meal. After cardio, your body isn't working as hard to repair itself, but should have similar nutrients....and again, this depends on if you are cutting or bulking.
