Question Oatmeal

I always see people include this in daily meal plans. What is the benefit of including oatmeal in your diet?

It is a good, relatively low GI carb for restoring muscle glycogen.

Oatmeal is healthy for your heart. Good source of fiber, and even has an okay amount of protein in it. One of the best things you can eat.

question:

if i had a protein shake primarily made of whey protein but included about 1/3-1/2 cup of oats, would that slow the burning of the protein because of the fiber?
