Carbs in the evening

When do you guys start tapering off carbs in the evening?

I generally have dinner around 8pm and have a protein shake right before I go to bed at ~ 11 - is 3 hrs pretty reasonable? My dinner is pretty carb-heavy as I am vegetarian and eat a lot of brown rice.

You had better find out from fellow veggie trainer and what works for them. When do you train? I would suggest a carb meal before an eary evening training session followed by a light protien based meal afterwards. can you do milk proteins or are you vegan?

Milk proteins are ok, just can't eat eggs/meat/fish. I don't have problems throughout the day - I have a lot of energy during the day and for my workout.

My question is just that generally, taking too much carbs right before going to bed is not advisable and I was trying to find out what hte general wisdom is on how many hours before going to be I should start tapering off on carb intake.

I have heard stop eating carbs after 5 pm. That is tough as nails and I'm assuming the guys who say that are going to bed at like 10 pm. My last carb included meal is at 8 and I go to bed at like 12-1. Then, depending on what time I go to bed I usually eat 2 more meals.

Chris, what do you eat in your 2 last non-carb meals before bed?
