Low Carb Diet
Hey do you guys have any personal info on these diets. I'm thinking about going on a low carb diet to gain muscle while keeping my body fat low. Would this be a good diet to use in order to accomplish my goals of getting muscular and ripped.

Not really you need the carbs for energy, i wouldn't get too low with the carbs. You wanna loose fat step up the cardio a little

If you want gain with low-carb diet, you must eat about 55kcal/kg ...very very kcal (see Anabolic Diet).
I think that carb is THE BEST if you want gain. Please: forget my English |

The problem with most of these diets like low-carb, Atkins, etc. is that they are so unnatural. Anything that is really way off the middle of the road (the grapefruit diet from a few years ago comes to mind) is bound to fail. I know a bunch of people at work who were/are on Fatkins. All was well and they lost 10, 15 pounds and then they got cravings for sweets, candy, whatever, and voila, poundage right back to where they started.
A more sensible approach is moderation - keep the carbs, except ditch the simple carbs like candy, sugar, etc. and add complex carbs like whole grain cereals and breads, brown rice, etc. As meat12 indicated, you need carbs for energy. This is not that difficult - I havent' eaten sugar in ages. If you need to sweeten something like your cereal, use some fruit instead. Also increase your protein intake - rule of thumb is 1g per pound of body weight. And finally, increase your cardio. For the best results (increase muscle and lose fat), ditch the junk from your food, lift hard and do cardio. Give this a few months - don't expect miracle results in a week or two - and you will see improvement. Good luck! |

Yeah, these fad diets will come and go. Pretty much all of them starve your body of something it needs (ex: carbs). It seems like every few years you'll hear of all these people jumping on the badwagon of the latest "diet of the month". Don't fall for it, just don't be lazy like the rest of the world. Do the cardio, balance yoru diet you'll do just fine.

carbs are essential not only for energy but recovery. to make big gains you have to eat carbs (good carbs as mentioned above). just be controlled when taking in your carbs and you should be fine.

Carbs are very important to gain muscle.
If you are natural it's impossible to gain muscle and lose bodyfat at the same time
