Are you talking about as far as carbs go? Because proteins and fat do not convert to sugar. As a general rule of thumb, anything processed where the hull or the husk of the whole grain has been stripped away, will convert readily to sugar. You generally want to moderate carbohydrate foods that have glycemic indexes of 50 or greater. Those types of food will make your body have a greater insulin surge and cause it to store fat more readily. You can get a glycemic index quide at any bookstore in the nutritional section and it will tell you common foods and their glycemic indexes.
