Protein after cardio?

I always take in a fast acting protein shake immediately after lifting. But on my current schedule my cardio is on seperate days, is it still necessary to take in protein after just cardio?

bonebreaker is on a distinguished road
Can you ingest too much protein daily? I would think it better to err on the too much rather than not enough. BB
