Whats the ideal amount of sugar I should consume daily?

I'm 19...Looking to cut a little bit more...

I drink a ton of tea, and tea i make has about 4 cups of sugar in a pitcher's worth of tea, and i drink about a pitchers worth of tea a day

I'm really not to knowledgable yet on the nutrition side of things

I normally have egg whites and toast for breakfeast...can of tuna after workouts, and then whatever my parents cook me for dinner i eat which is normally relatively healthy

eat plenty of yogurt, bananas for snacks throughout the day....but i hear sugar isnt the best thing so I want to get an idea of how much I should be taking in when I'm trying to lower my body fat %

If you have to have your tea THAT sweet, replace that sugar with Splenda or Equal. It tastes just the same, and is hella better than drinking the real thing.

You don't need any sugar man. I choke down 4 cups ed of green tea that taste like sweaty camel balls, so you can do it too.

I about puked drinking green tea, i made a pitcher of it with no sugar in it...and it really is like licking the sweat off camel balls

I've always had a ton of sugar in my tea, when i go out to eat or when I'm having dinner at someone elses house and they have no sugar in my tea it tastes like terribly flavored water

ill try out the Splenda or Equal sometime soon because right now that sugar is about the only "cheating" I'm doing and i would like to try and cut it

If you cut the sugar out, and switch to artificial sweetener, I guarantee you will drop 2-3% bodyfat in 1 month

I actually like it better than real sugar in tea. It mixes up better than sugar, and tastes EXACTLY the same. If you like the sugar taste, stick with Splenda or Equal, not Sweet N Low

yogurt and bananas are full of sugar too. one a day is fine, but if you're eating like 4-5 a day when you get hungry - that's a ton of extra sugar there too.

if you need 4 cups of sugar in your tea, why not just drink water?

I do drink water....water and tea...and after i drink water for a while i need some flavor, and water just doesn't do it for me, especially when im not thirsty at all, or if i haven't had any tea all day

yogurt and banana's i probably eat every other day...Just because I don't really buy that many, and banana's seem to go brown after 4 days so i throw them out

had no idea 4 cups of sugar had that many carbs tho....its alot

correction....

i thought our scoop = 1 cup...but it equals about half a cup, so really theres probably 2 to 2 1/2 cups of sugar in our tea

i'm sure that's still a nice and healthy 400 or 500 carbs

Not to mention too much sugar over time could lead to diabetes.

You have to get rid of that mentality. Drink the damn water! Your doing this for your body, not for taste.

couldn't artificial things you put in your body lead to other diseases, like cancer?

like what? splenda? splenda is malodextrin. that is natural, its made from sugar.

bro you can argue all you want. the bottom line is this, keep eating 2 or 3 cups of sugar or whatever in your tea and your going to stay the same. if you want results with your body listen to the suggestions in this thread.

Why come on the board and ask for advice if you won't listen. The answers you have gotten are solid. Stop trying to escape the fact that healthy or bodybuilding lifestyles take sacrifice. It really isn't even sacrificing when things like splenda exists. I don't get you at all. All wants but no desire.
