Working out late

I'm accustomed to working out early in the morning and try at all costs to avoid working out late at night so I can get continuous nutrition to the muscles to help repair. Anyway, when y'all work out late at night and you only have time for one meal after the pwo shake, what do you eat? Do you still do the typical bedtime meal or do you eat more carbs? I hate doing this but I'd feel better if I knew I could not cheat my gains by eating right. Do I need to get up in the middle of the night to eat when I do this? Thanks.

i wouldn't worry about it too much--whatever you do, as long as your keeping your calories the same (throughout the day) you probably won't noticeably hinder gains. this answer really works for all those little nit picky questions about nutrition that we obsessive bodybuilders often think up.

if you normally dont eat carbs with that last meal you might wanna divert a small portion (50g) from the earlier part of the day and have it with some cottage cheese. so oats and cottage cheese would be good before bed.

no need to get up in the middle of the night, but you might wanna do that thing where you drink a glass of water before bed, have to wake up eventually to piss, and at that time have a protein shake. Getting a good night's rest is far more important than this, so don't let this hinder your sleep (like if you have trouble falling asleep again after waking up to piss).

good luck.

i usually workout in the middle of the day and the 3 or 4 nights that i do sprints....i do those real late...like 11pm or midnight late

i know it's not recommended or anything but running at night i think is very relaxing...calms all my nerves and its a good time to think through what could be stressful situations in life

as far as your question, im sorry i dont know the answer..glowalla sounds right tho, that if you keep your calories the same then their shouldn't be a drastic change in your gains if any change exists at all

Yeah, I agree with Taylor, working out late is usually pretty relaxing for me also..you don't have to bother with everybody and you can pretty much have access to any machines you want. As far as it hindering your gains, I would say it'd be fine but constitute some simple and complex carbs and plenty of Caseinate 50-60g, so you wouldn't have to really get up in the middle of the night to replenish..
