bulking diet questions
hey guys, i havent posted in a while cuz i have been really busy with school and work, now that i have some free time i wanted to post my diet and see what you guys think, ive been working out for about 3 years, i got really sick a couple weeks ago and i lost about 10lbs. i am an ectomorph and a very hard gainer. i weight 150lbs. heres my current diet:
Morning: either a homemade gainer shake consisting of 1/2 cup oats, banana about 2 tbsps peanut butter and 2 scoops whey or 6eggs(4whites, 2yolks) and bowl of oatmeal Mid morning meal: depends on if i have a shake or eggs for the first meal, if i had eggs i would have a gainer shake. and if i had a shake, i would eat a tuna sandwich. Lunch: it kinda depends on whats in the house, i usually cook whole wheat pasta with meat sauce, or maybe some left over chicken with brown rice and a veggie. sometimes i cook up 6 soft boiled eggs and mix them up with 2 bananas but i wont eat this is ive already had a banana for breakfast. Mid afternoon meal: peanut butter and jelly sandwich on whole wheat bread with natural peanut butter and organic jelly(trying to stay away from high fructose syrup) here i usually run out of ideas of what to eat, and im still hungry; any ideas would be great! Dinner: like lunch, it usually depends on whats on the dinner menu. but it usually consists of a lean meat and low GI carb and some sort of veggies. Couple hours before bed: i usually have a gainer shake here. or cottage cheese with sugar free, fat free pudding(this is usually right before bed.) im really trying to gain weight i only weigh 150 lbs i use to weigh 180lbs so i know its an obtainable goal for my body. this diet coincides with a workout routine of course, 3 days a week although i might be changing to 4 days a week depends on how fast my body gets use to it. any help would be great. thanks guys!! |

Just glancing at it, it doesn't look like you're getting enough complex carbs.
First, use this like to determine your daily caloric needs and post the results: Basal Metabolic Rate for Gaining/Losing Weight Second, post up your complete stats. Third, post up your diet with macronutrient breakdown for each meal and for your overall diet. Then, we'll have something to work with. |

Quote:
I like to get at least 3-4 grams of complex carbs per pound of bodyweight while bulking. |
