Sleep, what is that LOL I know I tend to stay up wwwwaaaayyyyyy too late. A good night 12:30-7:30 but I do not sleep very well at all. I have a sleep study setup with a neurologist. That is one thing that I did get out of the physical.

Update 1/6/2008
Checked my weight this morning and I am down to 238 lbs. Not bad considering I started at 275 before Thanksgiving. I have joined Jack King's Gym and he has me going a circuit routin 3 days a week. He has been bodybuilding for 57 years and is very helpfull. We will see.

Good progress man. 22lbs in 6 weeks shows that you are working hard. Just stick to your plan and don't try and restrict calories further etc.. that will slow down you metabolism and will make things worse.

The cool thing is that I have been reading in the training section about doing a pull and a push exercise when training. I did not know the difference before. In the workout that he setup for me uses hammer strenth machines so that it isolates the muscle and the arms are seperated so that the weaker muscle will have to do more work. It involves a pulling exercise and then a pushing exercise of the same muscle. It takes me about 45-60 mins to do them all and the feeling of that pump when you get done is like drugs to me. Its a feeling that I have never felt before. I should have been doing this 15 years ago.

This is my bi-monthly update 1-20-2008

The last two weeks have been great. I have not missed one workout have set a long term goal. I would like to be 200 pounds in 16 weeks. I think that it is very doable for me. I weighed myself this morning and was 232 lbs. At 2 pounds per week 16 weeks=200 lbs. At least we will see. Short term goal for the next 2 weeks 228 lbs. Thanks for everyones help and support. I could not do it without this site.

Scrumhalf will become famous soon enough
Mark, you are an inspiration to all of us. You've got the perfect perspective on all aspects of this - good diet, consistency in workouts and most importantly, LONG TERM goals, not quick fixes. You're approaching this as a lifestyle change which I think is absolutely essential. Most people who give up on weight loss are those who think they can get some quick fixes while not changing their underlying lifestyle at all.

Keep up the good work !
