MEATBALLS

I have a question regarding meatballs. About once every 2months i tell my parents to goto Sams Club and me the big bag of meatballs, cook 'em, and i slam them down.
I read the nutrition facts and ic it contains a lot of fat and sodium.
Do u guys eat them or r they cut from ur diet???

Prepared food like that almost always has a high fat content. And that's because they use cheap meat, not lean cuts. If you want meatballs, make them yourself with ground turkey or leaner ground beef. I make some witha mixture of lean turkey and lean beef and they're really good. I'll post the recipe if you're interested. Don't buy that crap - save yourself the fat and money and prepare your own.

Make them with ground turkey...Even when I make burgers, I use ground chuck...It's better for you to make them yourself than buy them from the "frozen bag"...If you look at the contents, it will make you think twice.

DAMN i did not know that, I have had lean ground beef b4, and i really didn't notice anything wit it. Now i know its healthier, so gonna add that in.
What i do is, for every 2-2.5months of eating straight chicken, i get steak, fish, or meatballs and eat that for a week straight, than back to chicken. So i guess i'll cut meatballs out and sub lean ground beef or turkey.

It's okay to have a "cheat" meal every so often (most do once a week). I thought you were eating them as part of your diet. If it's only on occasion, I wouldn't worry too much about it, BUT you can make better ones homemade and cheat with something else

Well they're not that bad for you, if you make them yourself...But buying them from the frozen section already made

Having a cheat meal helps with those cravings - don't worry, it's okay. Just don't go all crazy and have a cheat "weekend."

I'll post the recipe in the Recipe section asap.

THATS REALLY THE REASON, lol. F i don't "HAVE" to do it, than i won't. Thats another reason y i don't marinate my chicken, too lazy and plus all that sodium and carbs r very unnecessary. My day consists of eating, college, liftin, hw/studyin (pre-med major ain't ez bro), readin up on tis site, and eating more food.

O YA, i never go crazy. Usually my cheat meal will consist of me drivin 4min to subway, grab a ft long double meat sub, and eat it (no chips, no soda). I shit u not, that does not keep me full, so about 2-3hours later, chicken and vege's.

Are you sure you're taking in enough fats?

I'm not surprised - even I could eat a foot long sub lol.

You're not doing your body any favors by using the same protein source all of the time. Just like your workouts, your body will and can adjust to what you're providing it.

Not only that, but I've read before, in an article that YJ posted here, that various protein sources provide different amino acid combinations that each provide something to your diet.

Ideally, each of your meals throughout the day would consist of different protein source. One example could be eggs for breakfast, a whey protein shake for a mid-morning snack, & then eggs, chicken and lean beef alternated for lunch, late afternoon snack & dinner.

Treat your body right, go the extra step and prepare good meals and you'll see the progress you're hoping to see.
