Liquifying your meals?
So I'm sittin in class today, and I started thinking. If you just decided to throw a meal's worth of diced up chicken or beef in the blender with brown rice and vegetables, added water, and blended the mother fucker.... would it provide the same benefits as eating it whole? I know shakes arent as good as whole food but i figured, why not have a shake made of whole food! Would the food being in a more liquidy form make it digest too fast for the body to get any good out of it? I was thinking I could just carry around a cooler with 5 whole food-shakes and sip on em all throughout the day? Is this a decent idea or am I just an idiot?

I have done this but only because I had jaw surgery and couldn't eat solid food.. Not sure if it would take away but it doesn't sound appealing...

Gross...That sounds like it would taste like shit. Also, I don't know the importance of it, but our mouths are the first point of digestion. Chewing and saliva start breaking down saliva. Maybe a blender would serve the same purpose as chewing, but it still sounds nasty.
Feel bad 4 peeps w/jaw surgery...sounds like a real hassle. |

i never said i liek it but chewing shit after a shitloa dof times during the day u get disgusted with ti and it takes like an hour to eat 2 chicken breast id rather dirnk it and be done in stead of draggin it out get it in and be done with it imo

i didnt lose weight if thats what u mean i felt i gained but i neve rhave a problem gaining but i didnt subsitute ALL my meals with liquifying them only a few but i will continue to do it unless i feel it aint working

blending things like chicken and rice etc might sound like a plan but it really dosent turn out right. try this, chew up all your chicken and rice and spit it back out on the plate. then eat it. lol. that is what it is like. its sucks. trust me.

OK, so it would taste like shit, but the question was would it be the same nutritionally. It might be like making soup, you could even warm it up. put a little hot sauce on top.

how could it not be the same nutrition? either way your digesting it no? its the same food youd eat right? if u still consume the same amount of stuff u would regularly what would eb the issue i aint a dr or a scientist but i think its the same fuckin thign and i havnt seen any loss of size or weight due to that factor so....

It will be a few days or maybe even a week or so. I have two blenders. One is at my parents house in my hometown, and one is here with me at my house at college. My more powerful blender is 200 miles away.
The blender I have isnt powerful enough to chop up little pieces of crushed ice, much less solid food.

wow,thats pretty fuckin gross. When I was still in college i just carried around a big container of boiled peeled eggs and a big ass protein shake mixed with oatmeal. I would make the shake with about 200grams protein and 150 grams carbs and just sip it all day with my boiled eggs.

The painfully obvious answer is to make healthy blender soups that don't suck, are fast and easy to prepare, and that have the right macronutrient proportions and glycemic index that you're looking for.
With sufficient persuasion I'd consider taking the time to create a few recipes that will actually work for your needs and not taste like crap. |

It's going to affect the glycemic index of the food but other than that it's still the food you would have originally ingested - I'm with NJ in the fact that I do something similar with a few of my meals and when bulking I have NO problems slamming a whole food meal (see - Tuna Shake) - I just wouldn't recommend it if you're cutting or trying to stay lean as the GI factor plays a fairly large role in those things...
