Nonfat Cheese
So I always keep a pack of shredded nonfat cheddar cheese in my fridge. Can I just smother this on everything? I mean, it is nonfat, virtually no carbs, and 9 grams of protein per serving. Any other drawbacks or do the nutrition facts speak for themselves? It seems like I can just snack on this cheese between meals and be perfectly ok for cutting. Am I right?

well for the fact that dairy will bloat you and is not a good source of nutrition, I wouldn't use it as a staple in any diet.

Well bloating is temporary. And dairy doesn't give me that bad of gas. Can you elaborate on dairy not being a good source of nutrition? Nonfat cheese is basically all protein. How is that not a good source of nutrition? Low fat cottage cheese is a must for some bodybuilders, and that's dairy.

its ok to have on a few dishes etc but no i wouldn't "smother it on everything." its basicaly like skim milk.
i am not as against it as stonecold but i do agree that the human body and diary aren't a perfect match.

Yeah that sounds about right. I guess I don't smother it on anything I just like it to go on my chicken throughout the day. The big difference I see between nonfat cheese and skim milk is the fact that skim milk has sugar and nonfat cheese is basically carb free.

I think it depends on the individual. We're almost all born with the ability to digest dairy but that wanes after infancy. At that point, the body slows down its production of lactase, the enzyme that breaks down dairy products, or even stops in the case of lactose intolerance. I'd say it's ok but make sure you're still relying on animal protein to meet your minimum grams per day.
