Green Split Peas

I have eaten these from time to time because my friend loves cooking them. I looked at the nutritional info today. High in fiber, some (incomplete) protein. why are these not talked about as a bodybuilding clean food?

i don't necessarily think its not talked about. its kind of like spinach or something similar. one of those boring foods that isn't all that fun to talk about.

All lentils including green peas are good for you. As you say, they have lots of fiber and reasonable amounts of protein as well. I eat about 2 cooked cups of lentils a day. There are many kinds and you can spice them up pretty easily - try some Indian spices on them, and they will be a good side dish to go with brown rice.

I never thought about that. I just saw it had 25 grams of carbs, with 11 grams of fiber. plus i think 5 or 6 grams of protein. I know its incomplete protein, but mixed with some chicken, I see it being a good compliment

Walk into an Indian grocery store and ask for Garam Masala. It is a mixture of spices that you can throw on boiled lentils and it gives off the typical Indian cooking smell you get if you walk into an Indian restaurant. Add a bit of salt, some red chilli pepper powder (or cayenne pepper powder) and a small amount (1/4 tsp, for example) to your boiled lentils and you'll be good to go.
