Cutting update

In case any of you are bored and need something new to read I thought I would post my progress on my cut. When I started this cut I was 220 lbs with 15% bf that bulk up lasted about 8 months and it began with 192 lbs at 14% bf. I am in my 3rd week of this cut I plan on going 8 to 10 weeks and hope to get to 10% bf or less depending on how I look.
The first two weeks I lost 10 lbs the second of those weeks was my week off from lifting so I was worried I was losing muscle because I could not judge strength. This week was the beginning of a new workout routine and I am happy to report I have not lost any strength I dead lifted on Tues with in 5 lbs of my Personal best and today I squatted even with my best. I am usually weaker on the first week back. So, it has been a good week. We will see how my Chest fairs today. My chest has always been my strongest body part. I have gained a few lbs this week I started the week at 209 and just weighed in at 212 this is after a scheduled further slight reduction in calories this week so it looks to me like I have gained some lbm. I am cut more today then I was last Thurs I noticed today the veins in my upper pecs and shoulders are showing and they were not even close last week. At this point I don't plan to reduce the calories any more as long as I continue to lean out. And if I lose power I will make adjustments. IF you have questions feel free I might answer.

Man you are good. That is exactly what I am doing. Ok here is the chest update from Fri I bested my all time incline bench press by 10 lbs for reps so it was not even 1rm. Weight on fri was 213 and I have been wearing my size 32 waist jean shorts all weakend and they are buttoned and zipped. Been a long time since I could be comfortable in that waist size. They are a bit tight in the legs but that is good. No fat there. I have been feeling pretty good most of the time once in a while the lower cals drag me down but, I focas on the goal and get with it. My kids are not avoiding me so I must not be grouchy either. I noticed one other thing on Fri something I have not seen in awile there is a large blue vien that runs a jaggity along the outter head of both biceps about 4" is showing can't wait to see the rest and the viens in my shoulders and calves are defenitly showing. All good signs I think. Thanks for wasting your time on my post.

Good work. And congrats on increasing your strength in certain areas while you are cutting. I have pretty much lost strength in everything but deadlift. My bench has gone down 20 lbs or so but my deadlift has gone up 30 lbs in the last 3 months!! Keep it up!

Man that stinks, maybe you need to increase the cals a little I know your diet has been tweaked by all the experts on here and it looks good but you may need a little more. Do you think it could be an energy problem or are you sure it's a loss of strength? Deadlift is kinda a real test of overall strength so maybe you just lack energy on the other things. The lowered cals can affect your mental state maybe find someone to yell at you in the gym. I offer that sevice to any who ask and some who don't where I work out. I think some people have changed there workout times to avoid me LOL. Anyway thanks for the congrats everybody.

its the training style. trust me, different workouts work for different body types. dosent sound like your body likes the kind of training you are doing.

do a little experiment. go back to your old way of training for a few weeks and see what happens.

Well right now I'm doing right in between the new and the old.

-Chest/shoulders
-Back/Rear delts
-Legs
-Arms

More broken up than push pull legs, but I am still working different parts of my shoulders based on push or pull and arms are together instead of Tri and Bi days separately. I'll see how it goes. First two workouts have been off the chain.

It has been about four weeks since I updated this post. Any way we will call the week after this original post week 1 and this week 4. Hope that is clear.
week 1: I was taking an e/a/c stack and it made me feel like crap all week I held a weight of 212 all week I did not loose any strength and actually posted some personal best in the squat rack.

Week 2: because i did not see any fat loss on scale or mirror I reduced my carbs further. I was not taking the e/a/c stack and I felt much better in the gym. I was able to just maintain the strength all week until chest day and I was able to up the incline bench for reps by 10 lbs. I wore my size 31 jean shorts all weekend and they were not tight in the waist. I could not even come close to buttoning then when this started. body weight was 213 this week

Week 3: I have started to have some energy problems at the gym. I added b12 and some caffeine to my pre workout meal if that is not enough I may have to up the carbs a little. By Thursday I was back on track for strength and energy level. My wife has said that I am looking very sexy lately. And the people at work keep telling me I am getting huge and asking me all kinds of diet and fitness questions. I think these are good signs. I have developed a great deal of vascularity in my forearms and calves as well as the vein on the bicep is much more visible. No abs yet though weighed in at 212 this week

Week 4 (now) Monday I felt good but I was all carbed up from two bday partys. I gained 5 lbs over the weekend and did not get nearly enough protein. Monday I felt pretty strong I am back on the e/a/c stack but I have lowered the dose and I don't feel sick from it. Tuesday I felt pretty good but was only able to maintain strength no gains. I don't seem to have an energy problem. I noticed tonight I am on the last hole on my belt and I my need to make some new holes to keep my work uniform on. the Mirror is telling me I am loosing fat and the body shape is much better then when I started. I weighed in at 209 today so the weekends weight gain must have mostly been water or something I was in the bathroom all day Sunday night and Monday I guess my body did not want to keep all that junk I ate.

Well that updates it. hope it was not too incoherent.
