I'm looking at my schedule and I am going on an 8 day trip to Germany, France, Italy, and Spain in late August. Anyone have any comments or advice for diet stability during this period of time.

Oooh, that's tough....

If it were me, I probably wouldn't follow my diet worth a crap . But, I've been working out/eating right for so many years, it really wouldn't affect me all that much, and I could just bust a$$ when I got back home (not necessarily the "right" thing to do, but I'm just being honest). You CAN eat semi decent, even on vacation. You know what foods are good and not good, so pick and choose wisely. Choose a cheat meal like you would if you were home. It's going to take extreme willpower on your part if you really plan on sticking to your plan while you're there. There are some good eats in Europe!

I'm really worried about all the driving I will be doing and how to eat then. I didn't even think about the fact that, if I get a job, I might not be able to go.

that is one of those things where you will just have to try your best. you simply wont be able to stick with your exact plan that you have not.

just jump right back into it when you get back home.

You're going to Germany, France, Italy and Spain in 8 days? Is this a business trip, because I could spend 8 days just in Paris and surrounding areas and still not finish seeing everything....

I missed breakfast this morning. Our power was out and I slept in till 9:15 and I had an interview at 10:00. I know, excuses, excuses. I ate a banana and a protein shake.

I've seen most of the sites. For my graduation my Mom got me a ride in the BMW M5 ring Taxi. Instead of flying into Germany, going on the Taxi and then spending 8 days touring the country a 3rd time I chose to rent a car. My basic idea is drive, drive, drive and find fun roads. It will be me and my best friend on the trip.

Don't worry too much about your diet on vacation - vacation is vacation and should be a break from your everyday life - I'm not saying you should pack on 20 pounds but just have fun and don't worry - hell if anything I lose weight on vacation....

Today went well in my opinion. I ate an hour late for meal 2 because I was at the Franklin Institute and you can't have food unless you are in the lunch rooms. From there I ate every 2hrs 45mins, so 2:45, 5:30 (pre-workout). Just got home from the gym.

The only way I can really make any progress gaining or losing is by sticking to a strict schedule - so rigid sometimes that it gets in the way of having as much fun as I usually would like to have - seems that's why vacations/trips out of town always end up with me losing weight....

It's not going to kill you to get off schedule here and there if it's just a meal or two a week - much more than that and you lose the structure you need to make the diet a *habit* - don't stress too much over something like today BUT next time ADJUST your schedule for the entire day if you can so that something like that doesn't actually throw you that far off....

yea, and i dont know about you but if i have to eat like shit, (such as on like a cruise) it almost ruins the trip for me. i feel like absolute shit after the second day.
