Whole Wheat Bread and Pasta

What's the deal with this stuff? Too processed? Bad to include on a cutting, bulking, or maintaining diet?

When I'm trying to bulk, I eat just about anything 'cept fast food or sweets. When I'm cutting I've gotta be strict and pretty much eat the same thing allatime or I'll get off-track

i'll have wheat spaghetti once in a while after working out, with tuna-tomato sauce, of course. I'm more reluctant with the bread though. I just love my oats.

When cutting or maintaining, I eat them for breakfast, and first solid meal after working out. Im sure you know this, but make sure its 100% whole wheat, not just wheat bread. Other good low glycemic breads are sourdough(suprisingly) and rye.

Hey prolangtum, when you are maintaining or bulking, when do you eat your carbs? Do you still keep it to first thing in the morning, pre, and post workout?

If you buy these so called "whole wheat" breads and pastas at a regular grocery store, they are typically white flour dyed brown and are usually no better than eating plain old white processed flour. Go to a health food store that carries the real thing. As a rule, if you can squish a loaf of bread down into a ball, all the fiber has been removed. True whole grain breads will stay very firm when you squeeze them. Ezekial bread is very good whole grain bread.
