Egg white protien

I was reading in the recipe forum about a egg white drink. Someone mentioned that egg withe protien could not be digested in the human body unless it was heated. Is there any truth to this?

interesting, as sometimes I will add pasturized egg whites to my shakes.

I read that in the old anabolic ref guide 1992. . .phillips said he heated his egg whites (not cooked, but heated them) before eating so that the protein was more easily digested. If you are using pre-pasteurized (heat treated) eggs then this probably is not an issue

Egg whites, or any eggs for that matter should not be eaten raw. They can contain Salmonella and should be cooked

i drink 'All Whites' about once or twice a day. i love them...mix em' with sugar free tang or lemonaid. tastes great!!
