wheat bread for slowburning carbs?
anyone else in here eat wheat bread to get some good carbs?

glycemic index is kind of high. would not consider this a slow-burning carb.

i would consider it a simple carb, in the ballpark with sugar, white rice, and white potatos (not sweet). they all spike your insulin. definitely depends on what effect you are after.

a simple carb? Hardly. sugar is the only simple carb you listed. Potatoes and white rice are somewhere around 100 of the GI scale, Whole wheat bread is around 75. But as as I said before, as long as you do not eat it alone, it will make little difference in the long term.

take remarks in context PLEASE! the OP asked if wheat bread is a slow-burning carb which it is NOT. |

The G.I of foods is pretty useless in the grand scheme of things, the glycemic load is far more helpful, although total calories consumed is always going to be the most important factor.
