Trouble in LA
Phil Jackson steps down, Kobe and Malone OPT out now Shaq wants a trade. Looks like the end, I'm sure any team would love to get a guy of Shaq's magnitude. This offseason will be intresting

Talk aboujt an implosion. Mitch Kupchak has his work cut out for him. It is not the Lakers style to spend a few years in the wilderness rebuilding, so it will be interesting how they react.

Yeah it would be nice to see the West not ruled by the Lakers for once. I just wanna know where Shaq is going, teams have to be drooling over him for sure

It will be interesting to see what happens in the off season market...The Lakers will have HUGE dollars to spend with everyone leaving..so they may be able to get some talent to stay competitive..Not Shaq-Kobe talent..but some guys that really mesh can do wonders...Look at Detroit

Well I guess the new dominant team to beat atleast for next year will be the Pistons.
I'm thinkin maybe Shaq's gonna go to the Knicks, as for Malone he should just give up and retire (his knees are done). |

Shaq's contract is huge...he has two years remaining on it:
He is under contract for $27.6 million next year and $30.6 million the following season. Let's say L.A. decides to just give him away for next to nothing (which they aren't gonna do, obviously)....there aren't many teams that can afford to pay him what his contract demands. Good call on the Knicks though...they have unlimited money much like the Yankees and Rangers....they are one of the few teams that could afford him. Mark Cuban has the billions to afford Shaq, but there is no way in hell that the Lakers will be stupid enough to deal him to a Western conference rival. |

True, What do you think of a Mcgrady-O'neal trade?Shaq still lives in Orlando. Maybe he will go back to his old team. |

I don't think Orlando can afford him. He'd have to take a pay cut.

I never really considered the lakers a team this year anyways they were just four ego driven superstars and then Shaq.
