Lesnar in the NFL!!!!!!!!

I just read an article stating that Pro wrestler Brock Lesnar is giving the NFL a try this year!!! Lesnar convinced Coach Mike Tice of the Minn Vikings to give him a shot. So far, they love his work ethic and enthusiam, but he is still raw as for as techinique goes. This will definitely be interesting to see how Lesnar does in the NFL!

No, the article stated that playing in the NFL was always his biggest dream. I guess he used wrestling to make a name for himself and is now using that to get him shot in the NFL.

He was a wrestler and I believe he was also on the football team for the Minnesota Golden Gophers! He had more talent for wrestling and went on from their to make millions in the WWE! He signed a contract witht the Vikings for like $275,000 a year! I have seen some footage from his training camp and he looks fast on his feet for his size! I hope he does well!

He pretty much made that a year in the WWE anyway. So not too bad a step. Football will be easier on his body.

Lesnar did wrestle for the University of Minnesota, he was a national Heavyweight Champion, but he never played for the Gophers in football. He hadn't played football since 1995 when he was a senior at a high school in North Dakota.

When he wrestled professionally and was in town (Minneapolis) he worked out at the gym I belong to, The Gym in Plymouth, MN.

Most of the people here that know him are rooting for him to make it, even though it is a longshot at this point, but he may be able to be kept on as a practice squad member for the year and maybe make it next year if he doesn't this year. From the people I know that have gone to see him done at camp he is extremely quick but is just trying to get the fundamentals back again.

Go Brock!!!!!!!

I heard he runs a 4.7sec 40 yard dash. Not too bad for his size. Wonder what position they're giving him.

He's a monster. Only question I have is is this... It's widely known that professional wrestlers juice... is he an exception to this, a clean "wrassler". I'm guessing he has to be since he's giving the NFL a shot. With this size, I'm rooting him on, though it may be just that - a dream

I friend of mine who plays for the Viks says he is at D-Tackle. That would make the most sense. Of all the positions DT is the one a guy with his physical attributes and limited experience would fit at. D-end is more complicated responsibility-wise.
It will be interesting to see how he does. I hear he has dropped 20 lbs. (305 down to 285. The NFL obviously has a drug testing policy). My guess is he will have great moments but his over-all his lack of experience at a higher playing level will prove to be a huge obsticle in his career. I wish him luck.
