Shaq sidelined for season
http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/3415696
Report: Shaq sidelined for season Shaquille O'Neal is reportedly out for the remainder of the season after suffering a torn ligament in his left knee during a game against the Bulls Tuesday night. ESPN News, citing a Miami Herald report, made the announcement. Earlier on Wednesday, the Associated Press reported that O'Neal would sit for Wednesday's game against the Indiana Pacers, then return to Miami with the team, where he would undergo an MRI on Thursday. O'Neal left the game against the Bulls on Tuesday night after landing awkwardly early in the first quarter. He fell onto Bulls forward Othella Harrington, after going up for an alley-oop pass from Dwyane Wade, and stayed on the floor for several minutes - holding his knee. He was then helped off the floor and into the locker room. O'Neal played only two minutes against the Bulls and didn't score. O'Neal, who missed a game in December due to a calf injury, is averaging 22.7 points and 10.4 rebounds in his first season with the Heat. Last edited by meat12 : 03-09-05 at 09:40 AM. |

OMG-that sucks! It was kinda nice to see him playing on a rejuvenated team again. We'll see how Miami holds up without him.

Now they're retracting the report:
http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/3415696 Shaq apparently not done for year An ESPN News report that Shaquille O'Neal was out for the remainder of the season with a torn ligament in his left knee apparently was a bit premature. The network is now reporting that O'Neal has only suffered a strained knee. ESPN News made the original announcement earlier on Wednesday, citing a Miami Herald report. |
