And the 2005 Heisman goes to...

I will just put the top three. There no sense on puting anyone else.

Of course I am going to pick Vincent Young, but I think he really deserves too. Sure Reggie Bush is impressive, but what he does is just alot of being a running back, if that makes sense. Young does his job and more in my opinion.

Huh? Reggie Bush isn't just a running back. He catches passes, returns punts, blocks, etc. Vince Young is good, but he can't compare with Reggie Bush's explosiveness. Everytime he touches the ball he has a chance to break it, and IMO that is the best player in college football. Defenses always have to recognize where he's lined up and try to stop him first. He changes a defenses strategy, the way they line up, they way they chase, everything.

If you get 500+ all purpose yards in a game you deserve the heisman (He also hasn't had one bad game this year).

I haven't watched him a lot this year but if tonights game is at all exemplary of what he does, he certainly deserves it.

That is a little deceptive. Who did Texas play besides Ohio State? No one. They have one of the weakest schedules in the country. Baylor? TAMU? Okla State? Kansas? Rice? Missouri? Texas Tech? In each of those games but a few Vince Young started the 4th quarter (can we say stat builders?).

Colorado got hammered by Nebraska last weekend. They wouldnt have but maybe 3 or 4 wins in the SEC, and they played for the conf champ. The Big 12 is incredibly weak.

USC on the other hand has played 2 top 10 teams and 2 other current top 25 teams (not counting Ariz State and Cal were ranked earlier in the year)

I also don't hear anything about Texas's defense or their running game or wide receivers. Vince Young is surrounded by a very good all around team and I don't hear any of them getting credit for Texas being undefeated except for Young.

Bush on the other hand is surrounded by another Heisman candidate and previous Heisman winner, another 1,000 yd running back, and one of the best receivers in the country IMO (Dwayne Jarrot), and he still stands head and shoulders above them on the field.

I just don't get how you can watch both Texas play then USC play and tell me that Reggie Bush isn't more exciting to watch, that he doesn't make incredible plays week in and week out, that you don't hold your breathe everytime he touches it because you know he can break it or change the whole game in one play. I just don't feel like Vince Young is the best player in the league, that he can change a game with one play like Bush can. I feel like if I blink when Bush gets the ball I'll miss something spectaculor.

Today Reggie had 260 yds on 24 carries (220 yds in the first half). Over 10 yds/carry for a season is rediculous (maybe his career).

Check out this Link - High School Highlights (the link is on the left side of the page under the picture)

This is the same stuff he does in college now.
Schools in session so pay attention carefully, he looks like a man among children. He plays in fast forward while everyone else plays in slow motion.

Bush looked unbelieveable yesterday ... 260 yards on 24 caries is unreal.

Young ... 14 /17 193 yds 3 tds 1 int with 57 yds rushing and 1 td is solid, but not spectacular

I'm not saying Bush isn't a great player. I just feel it's harder for a QB to do what Young does than a RB to do what Bush does. Alot of running backs play like Bush does. Bush just does it alot better. You are trying to make it sound like I think Bush sucks. And yes Young can change the whole game with one play, and yes I can hold my breath everytime he takes a snap knowing it can be a TD play.

Bush by a long shot. He is the next Emmit Smith or Barry Sanders.

Reggie Bush is the most explosive college player since Rocket Ismail. He wins hands down.

I was happy for Bush. The statement that made my night though was that Young was returning to Texas for his senior year. :dancingne
