Todd Bertuzzi: wtf is the Team Canada braintrust thinking?

There are some other choices for the team Canada is sending to Turin that I don't agree with (inclusion of Shane Doan, Jason Spezza only being an alternate choice), but those cases at least an argument can be made. Not in the case of Todd Bertuzzi IMO: this guy is and always will be a disgrace to the game for what he did, and it sickens me to think that he's going to get to represent the world's greatest hockey nation. This piece of trash should have been permanently banned from representing Canada at both the Worlds and Olympics for life.

hes the guy who sucker punched an Avalance player (steve moore) and busted 3 vertebra in the guys neck ending his career. he was also charged with assult. i was shocked when i saw that on sportscenter. its pathetic canada let him back. i guess they'll do anything to win. :thumbsdow

to start with... FUCK STEVE MOORE! It's unfortunate that his career is ended in that way, but he did deserve to have his ass beaten for what he did to Nassy. The thing about that whole incident was you don't know if Bert broke his neck, or the fact that Moores team mates piling on his back did it, either way it was not an intentional career ender. You can not hold Bert fully responsible for that incident, he punched the guy, big friggin deal. He should have gotten a penalty, not a how ever many game suspension. You have to punish a player for his actions, not the freak results of them, which in my opinion was a combo of Bert and the Av's dog piling on Moore and not the initial punch. Just letting you know, I live in Vancouver and it has been a long time since I have been able to rant about this.

simmer down canucks! come on... no matter what you guys say it was one of the uglyest events in all of hockey history. its bad for an already dead sport. the only thing to come close in my mind is McSorley slash on whatever his name is or the nasty cross-check on Kariya which was done by a US player (Gary Sutter?) who the US allowed to play on their team USA. I would have used that in my argument not the crap you wrote.

McSorley was/ is a douche. What he did was intentional trying to severly harm someone, Bert punched a guy. True Bert is a beast of a man and Moore isn't, but he was not intentionally trying to hospitalize him, he simply punched the guy in the head... boo friggin who, it happens all the time in hockey with a much less sever reaction/ result. And NYCmitch25... we are Canadian. Using an example about how team USA allowed that player to play for them is not going to win over a Canadian, we already think of the States as our corrupt/ dumbass big brother. (that was not meant to offend, just to make a point...C'mon Americans, can you honestly say you do not view us as your pansy little brothers?)
