Ken Hitchcock vs. Robert Esche

I was wondering why Hitch left Esche in for all 9 goals of the 9-1 drubbing the Flyers took from the Sabres....but then I found out what Esche said about his coach the day before the game.

When asked about why he was left on the bench by Hitchcock for 4 straight games by a reporter, Esche answered:

“I don’t try getting in his head, that’s for sure. It’s an empty place.”

Clearly, leaving him in for the entire drubbing instead of giving him the hook was retaliation. What kind of idiot calls out his coach in the media like that? Is no sport immune to airing out their dirty laundry in public anymore? :hmmm:
