Eli Manning

I can't tell if he is just overrated because of his brother or if he just doesn't fit in the Giants.

I don't know what the answer is, at times he seems real composed and others he is scared shitless. I think he pushes too hard and tries to make things happen. Whether that is because of his team or a personal thing to live up to expectations, i have no idea. I think the draft thing messed with his head and had him istening too critics before he took his first pro snap...

I think when he is given time to throw the ball he makes good decisions and is a pretty good QB. However, under pressure, he is one of the worst QB's in the league.

I would keep him but he really needs to work on his pass under pressure.

Agreed...Not to mention the name he holds...That's a high standard...

Eli is very good. NY fans are tough on any player who struggles. The giants have no downfield threat except for injured Plaxico.

i wouldn't say he is "very good". Tom Brady is very good, Payton is very good.

I think he suffered going to Ole Miss in college. He went there for his namesake, but never developed under an inferior coaching staff and team. Had he gone to a decent school (football wise) he might not be struggling so much.

We'll see if he has the success both of them have had by the time he gets to where they are in their careers. Doubt it.

Yeah, it's ridiculous to think he would have developed more with a team that had a pass rush defense instead of worrying he was going to get his head ripped off every play! Bottom line is he's gun shy...that's why he makes poor decisions when pressured!

Peyton has been in the league for 10yrs, & Brady 8yrs. Well shithead I guess we'll just sit here a wait 5-6 yrs or we can do this - look at him now he has great arm strength, mobility, and always improving he makes good descisions he is a good pocket QB. he has a long way to go but shit he doenst have Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harrison, Moss,Branch (traded), etc im sick of the whinny NY fans and media. a yr ago 1/2 you fuckers thought Brady sucked so i dont want to hear it.

hes been in the pro's for 4 yrs now... college has nothing to do with his development at this point. plus you dont htink his bro pony'd up some cash to have the best work with him in hte off season in college?

gun shy? when your only downfield threat is a TE fuck where he going to throw it. def plays short.

He shouldn't need Wayne, Harrison, Moss or Branch to be a great quarterback. Brady won a Superbowl in his third year without a star receiver whatsoever. How many of the league's top receivers play with a crap quarterback? None.

Winning Superbowls is great and everything, but how long can you play for a guy like Bellichick without wanting to choke him? I love that he's the Pats coach, but I don't have to play for him.

Eli Manning was way over-hyped coming into the league. Even though he actually is a pretty good QB, he'll never live up to the hype so people think he's disappointing. If nobody had known who he was, everyone would probably agree that he's a good QB. Expectations and perceptions have been distorted. Coaches don't really care what the public thinks, so he'll do fine.

Tom Brady is one of the highest paid players in the league at 16M a year. Branch left for more money. Vinatieri left for more money. I'm sure Bob Kraft will pay him as much as it takes to keep him.
