Whats your favorite ground beef recipe?
I get the homey hookup on beef. I bought 600 pounds 6 months ago and I'm still grinding on it. I hit 3 lbs a day once in a while, but usually I do 1/2 lb mornign witht eggs and the otehr two pounds at lunch and dinner. I've been eating it just fried in a pan in a giant one pound patty using a variety of different spices. Just started making meatloaf and I'm loving it! nice break from the usual and tastes good. Also it's easier to chew and swallow.
I buy those 79 cent meatloaf spice packs at the store. they work with 2 pounds hamburger. I follow the direction on the pack but instead of breadcrumbs I use 1 1/2 cups of oatmeal. Also, I haven't been using onions. After eating a pound that's too much onions! So what else can I do w/ ground beef to mix it up? squatter |

Meatballs with a homemade marinara sauce, with a slice of wheat toast! Meatballs are made similar to the meatloaf prep, only then rolled and cooked through either in the oven or some people cook it in the marinara.

chipotle mustard
egg whites ground beef jallepeno peppers Mix about 1 cup of eggwhites to a pound of beef, and add in a couple tablespoons of chipotle mustard and chopped jallepeno peppers (how much depends on how much spice you want, I've been doing about 3 tbs), form into patties and cook in a skillet covered until browned on one side, then flip it over and finish cooking. Good eaten alone or with brown rice or a veggie.

I like to season with garlic, white onion, cayenne pepper, and finely ground black pepper.
If the ground beef is going into a wrap, I try to add a tex-mex flavor to it with some cumin and green chiles. |

Most people think this is disgusting... but here goes:
1 lb of ground beef 1 large can of yams/sweet potatoes 4 tablespoons of Mayo (fat free - if you want) Fast Prep: In toaster oven, stick in 4 1/4 patties on tray... high temp cook for at least 5 mins. While that is cooking... Take big microwaveable bowl, open can of yams, drain, toss them in. Throw bowl in microwave for about 3.5 minutes. Take out bowl of yams, mix in/mash mayo into yams. By this time, your beef should be almost done... take it out and throw it in the bowl and continue to mash it all together. Spice to your liking. I use Emeril's Essence and Garlic Powder. That's it! Enjoy. ![]() |
