Breakfast meals
What else does everyone eat for breakfast other then just egg whites. I've reached that point again where i just can't stomach eating egg white omlets anymore. I've gone through several types and get naseous even thinking about them now. This happens every couple of months or so to me but eventually i'll start eating them again.
Just curious what else people eat for breakfast and what's your recipe? |

take your egg whites, put it in a blender with 1/2 to 3/4 cup of oats. blend with cinnamon and splenda to flavor.
cook in non-stick pan with a little PAM. presto - you have a protein pancake. add a little fat free cool whip to top for flavor if you'd like |

I found these too :
"Protein Pancakes" 1 cup whole wheat flour 1/2 cups uncooked oats 1 cup 2% fat free milk (or skim which ever you like) 1 whole egg 1 scoop of Whey powder (chocolate flavor or any other flavor) 1/2 cup of any chopped fruit (bananas, strawberries, blueberries mix in bowl and make pancakes, top with a little butter and reduced sugar syrup 3 pancakes - 4-5" diameter ------------------------------------------- "Bowl of Muscle" 1/2 cup oats 1 scoop ON 100% Whey 1 tbsp natty PB 1/2 cup Total Protein Cereal 1 Banana on the side 1 giant glass of milk Make the oats pretty thin, I use just under a cup of water and nuke it for 1:30. Then stir in the powder, PB, and cereal. You can put the banana in as well, but that might make it too thick. Play around with it and add what you want, it's good stuff. Approx: 710 cals, 15g fat, 84g carbs, 59g Pro, Not to sure about these breakfast meals though.. what do you guys think? Last edited by Deez Nuggets : 09-23-04 at 03:20 PM. |

Turn you oven to broil, place a cast iron skillet inside.
take a shower. (20mins later) using gloves remove you skillet add in a little bit of olive oil. Then dump a bag of Ore Ida hashbrowns into the pan (that you left unthawing in the fridge overnight) that has been mixed together with two whole eggs. Then dump some salsa on top. Sprinkle with lots of salt. Place back under the broiler for 12-15 minutes. Just when the tomatoes from the salas start looking carmelized. Then remove it. Now sprinle on some mozarella cheese, as much as you can. Then crack 4 whole eggs on top in different places all around the pan. Place back under the broiler for 3-4 minutes, or just until the egg whites set. Now sprinkle on some red pepper flakes and dig in. Its an offseason meal, but one of the best damn meals you'll ever eat. |

A protein pancake (but I don't put the mixture in the blender) and half a cup of cottage cheese.
I've been making big batches of them and putting them in ziploc baggies and freezing them so they're always ready during the week. I take one out and nuke it for a minute and breakfast is ready. If I'm running late I skip the cottage cheese and just eat the pancake while I'm driving to work. It's also a fantastic snack meal. If they're too dry for you and you're not terribly worried about the carbs, some applesauce added into the mixture will keep them moist. You can also add in some sliced almonds.

Jealous, puddles, come on. You can eat whatever you want, just modify your work outs to accomodate. Are you really only eating about 1500 cal/day? That is crazy low. If you want some friendly advice on nutrition, send me a message my aim name is docjatttu. In the mean time, don't step out into a windy day, you might blow away. Jk

Bumping this thread for Redmachick.
Barbender, I'm 5'3" and 38 y.o., 150 lbs, 14% bf, and I've got a slow ass metabolism. At 1500 I grow, to maintain or lower bf I have to go lower. My diet is about 60% protein, 20% fat, 20% carbs. I normally lift 5 days a week and cardio a few days a week. This works for me.

I tried to make a few protien pancakes the other morning and my non stick pan was having issues, I couldnt get it to work right, so I improvised and poured some mix into a baking pan and stuck it in the oven at like 350 or so and let it bake, the pancake turned out like a cake or something, tasted remarkable, so soft and fluffy.... from now on I bake my pancakes it only takes like 8-10 minutes.

6 ounces of steak, 1 cup of cooked oatmeal add some splenda for sweetness, and 3 eggs whole, and a glass of water. You can throw in some A1 if you like and are not concerned about sodium
Simple but it works PD

Crack open about 6 eggs into a cup, beat em up real good. Add tablespoon of splenda, stir, drink, enjoy. How I love taking eggs. I can't do them any other way now.

I tried making protein pancakes this weekend using the recipes that Sana and Puddles had previously posted.
2 scoops protein, 3 eggwhites, 3/4 cup oats, cinnamon, vanilla and water. Cooked in a pan sprayed with PAM. I also added some slivered almonds and a tiny bit of flax seed. They turned out great! Super tasty and a great breakfast alternative. |
