Hard boiled eggs
Is there some secret magic trick to boiling eggs?? Everytime I make hard boiled eggs the egg sticks to the shell when I try to peel them. I end up with half the egg whits and a yoke. I just put water and eggs in a pot and turn on high for about 10 minutes or so. Any pointers??

I put mine in, cover them with about 3/4 to an inch of water and put them on high uncovered. Once they boil I let them boil for ten minutes. Then I immediately douse them with cold water and peel the shells. I lose one or two out of 15 or so.

Are they cool to cold when you peel them?

nope, I dump the water from the pot and fill it with cold and do that 3-4 times. Then I fill it with cold again and pull them out of there as I do them. The inside is hot on the first few and is still a little warm when I do the last one.

Try bringing your water to a boil and then adding your eggs (careful because if you drop them, they will crack and you'll scald yourself from the splash back). Worked for me.

Well he just cracks each end and takes the bottom pieces off. I'd like to try it, but I can't imagine using that as a way to peel my eggs lol. |

I'm definately trying this shit. I'll blow anything to keep from peeling eggs.

Don't have baking soda. Hope it works without it.

Didn't it give special instructions for if you don't have baking soda? |

Tried it this morning with no baking soda. Couldnt blow the eggs out, but after I tried to blow for a few seconds, they were much easier to peel. Maybe the air going through loosened everything. Will try to get some baking soda tonight for tomorrow mornings eggs.

Yep, that was pretty much the key to it I believe. |

But like Bouncer said, you should be able to peel it fairly quickly if cooked correctly. If your shells are sticking a lot then they are overcooked. I place eggs in water, bring to boil, let boil 3-4 min, cover and remove from heat, let sit in the water for 6-9 min.
