I made this the other day, best Sesame Chicken ive ever had. Not exactly healthy. Make your own cheat meal. Looks dfficult but it was easy. The only hard part is the ingrediates. 1. Cut up 3 chicken breasts into cubes 2. Mix these ingrediants- (marinade) 2 tablespoons light soy sauce 1 tablespoon cooking wine or dry sherry (i didnt have so i used red wine vinigar) 3 drops sesame oil 2 tablespoons flour 2 tablespoons cornstarch 2 tablespoons water 1/4 teaspoon baking powder (use 2 of these b/c iddnet have backing soda) 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon vegetable oil *mix marinade and meat put in the fridge for at least 1/2 hr 3. Make the Sauce mix all this in a pot and heat on low for 10mins. 1/2 cup water 1 cup chicken broth 1/8-1/4 cup white vinegar or rice wine vinegar (depending on how sweet you want the sauce) 1/4 cup cornstarch 1 cup sugar 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce 2 tablespoons sesame oil 1 teaspoon chili paste (or more) - I used red pepper flakes instead 1 garlic clove (minced) 4. fry chicken in peanut oil set aside on paper towels 5. heat up sause and pour over the chicken and add sesame seeds if you have them. *toast sesame seeds heat in a pan on low till get brown. |

Peanut oil is best for crunchy but try canola....its better for you and cheaper.......this recipe isnt that bad for you....try whole wheat flour and just a little baking soda......dry sherry also makes it authentic.....or oyu can just buy the sauce.....its sugary but it will get your protein down in an enjoyable way!
