Shoulder pain

I have this dam pain in my right shoulder. I haven't hurt myself in training, but not sure if I am sleeping on it all messed up that its so sore. I almost feel at times that it fell asleep and is so NUMB, but it hurts at the same time.

Bouncer you still have that dam shoulder pain too and what are you doing for it?

i am gonna asked my chiro about it tonight because its annoying the heck out of me. It actually runs from my trap into my shoulder, grrrrrrrrrr

Describe the pain. Is it like a burning pain? Do you feel it during training or after you wake up.

I believe my pain from a nerve that is being pushed on. It comes and goes and sometimes I can feel it shooting down my arms. I put ice on the area and the pain goes away. I dont feel it much when I am training. Any kind of presses dont bother me. I do feel it when I am doing things like curls though. the weight pulling on my shoulders seems to push on that nerver in the upper back/shoulder area.

ok, so the pain is burning YES, but I don't experience it much throughout the day. I feel it more @ night when I sleep or when doing shoulders or any push/pull activity. Its bizarro and the chiro gave me some stim and heat last night, felt much better.

Today is shoulder day, but I am just gonna do arms and take off shoulders this week. Get some treatment done and my massage tomorrow, so maybe this will all help heal the area.

I did however, feel some pain in the area doing back last night on my rows... the trap area. geeeeeeeeeeeez!

yea, sounds sort of like what i get accept that i dont get much pain in the gym. i think it has to do with nerves and tense muscles in the area.

is the right side the dominant arm or is it your left. sounds like the supraspinatus and rotator cuff stability.

how do you come to that conclusion? just wondering because all she and I have talked about is pain on and off, not weakness. not trying to be a smart ass, just wondering.

No weakness issues on this end. I still trained them hard last week and hit my back hard last night too.. but I did feel some pain on some exercises.

I don't get it.. I am just gonna keep an eye on it and go from there. I had an issue with my left shoulder in the spring.. shooting down my arm and aggravating the elbow. It was horrific.. but I know that was all tension and stress related. so maybe I have some built up tension up in the area and I don't know.. I aint a doctor

Did I mention I HEART BIOFREEZE. I have been using that at night too and it helps alleviate a bit.

yea, dosent sound like any rotator issue to me. i have the pain you talk about shooting down into my arm and into my hand. its all tight muscles and stress pressing on shit back there. a hot shower and then an ice pack helps me a lot.

its extremely common. systoms such as pain at night dull/ache... it can cause tendinititor on the biceps tendon. i know first hand I had to battle it for a while. the pain can actually starts at the front of the shoulder run down the arm. its actually has to do with the muscles around the rotatory cuff being strong (getting stronger from training) and the rotator cuff doesnt get stronger. it simple terms pulls the shoulder out of whack.... messes with shoulder stability

Shoulder update: Pain has diminished a bit with the therapy but am now experiencing a tingling/numbness feeling in the area.

I took off chest and shoulder training this week to give the pushing action a rest.

More treatment tonight... I am hoping to have this all better by next week.

Hey WW, how is your shoulder feeling? I actually went to a shoulder specialist (he works with the NY Jets) and got X-ray's and an MRI just to make sure nothing was wrong. Everything came back ok. He thinks I have muscle spasms in my rear back shoulder area that are pressing on nerves. his recommendation is that i go to physical therapy and get Electrical Stimulation, Deep Tissue Message, and Ultrasound to break up the scar tissue and work out the knots.

burning, numbness and tingling sounds like nerve pain to me. do you stretch your neck and shoulders before or after workouts? i don't stretch as often as i should, for sure. and it think that weight lifters often overlook the benefits of stretching and flexibility. you might try ice/heat after workouts too. also those rotator cuff shoulder exercises, if it is your rotator cuff.
sounds like you have been getting lots of therapy and opinions so you probably have tried these things - but just making sure you didn't skip the simple stuff!

thanks.. I have tried it all and you know my shoulder is feeling better, I don't stretch enough but I do get it in.. I should actually try stretching more often after a different cise. My chiro does alot of stretching for me, he is great

my shoulder feels better, but i haven't done any shoulder training in about 2 weeks. Just sorta put it off to rest the area.

Thanks..
