If it's just an oral fixation, try some Snuff. My husband quit with it- he just needs something in his mouth all the time. Can't buy it at your local store- he ordered the mint snuff on the net

I agree with Red, sometimes its an oral fixation issue. Other than that try chewing gum or something.

People have had good success with Chantix, and my sister quit smoking- for awhile- by doing that laser thing on the ear.

There is a kiosk inside a mall near my house that sells something similar to cigarettes, and its the "healthy" alternative. You can smoke it indoors and its smokeless. Its called BLU Electronic Vapor Cigarettes. Its crazy, dude was smoking it indoors and you couldn't see smoke nor smell it

I quit cold , but the girl I was with at the time used Chantix and it seemed to work fine for her - then again, 2 years later she's smokin and I'm good - need to be able try to run . Hard part is you get so used to that break, be it 15-30 minutes to just chill out and say "fuck it" smoke break.

Yea, I dip and chew sometimes. It's more of an oral fixation. Lot of guys I know who end up going to places where they can't dip, quit by chewing gum or just having something in there mouth like toothpicks, candy, etc.

i've often swallowed it. when i'm somewhere it's not appropriate to be chewing, i'll just swallow it. gives me terrible heartburn, but the taste doesn't really bother me that much.

i did pretty good this week actually. just had a shit load of jolly ranchers, which actually worked. props to rocket. i don't consume much sugar at all, so my stomach didn't like all that sugar, but it worked. i also have been sucking on a lot of celery sticks. their perfect. taste good, full of water, no sugar or calories.
i just hope i can stick to it.

dfc or anybody else with a nicotine addiction, how long did the cravings last?

i do a lot. i say on average around a tin every 2 days. as soon as i put one it, i'm thinking of my next one already lol. it sucks man.

i tried big league chew as well. the shits good, but flavor doesn't last as long. i prefer dentyne or some sugar free gum.

I didn't do it for the flavor bro...it was more of all the gum in my mouth...It's the oral fixation more than anything IMO...Yes you do you get a high from dipping......But if you can keep your lips/tongue occupied, it would help. It did for me...It was hard to quit...I got bad headaches, chewed the inside of my mouth, etc...but I have near perfect white teeth and never had braces....I knew dipping was going to ruin it if I had not stopped...And I'm too vein, in case you haven't figured that out yet

I tried chew and I felt like I was high outta my mind, I couldn't stand up and was all screwed up, then I got a stomach ache and spit the shit out, didn't care for it much. My friend quit then he broke up with his GF and went back to his dip, He tried the gum thing I think I would start with sunflower seeds lets you still spit.

I've actually decided to really make a run quitting smoking - so I'm just gonna give it a go cold turkey - I might try the niccorette gum, I'll be chewing a lot of gum regardless. I need to get my cardio conditioning up - wish me luck fellas, I've quit before but always found a way back to a pack.

I quit cold turkey a 10yr smoking habit. Of course i knew it is extremely hazardous to your health, but i enjoyed it. The main thing that made me quit was that i was developing small wrinkles above my lip and i kept thinking that it will not go away and only get worse if i continue. Find that reason to quit for good, maybe look at pictures of cancer in the mouth or something and stare at it everyday while your chewing or smoking. Chantix and Nicorette may have some success, but you should go cold turkey one day at a time and by 3 weeks on the urge will be pretty much little to none. You could try eating sunflower seeds, the beef jerkey that looks like chew, or sugarless gum. If you try and fail, try again until you reach that point where you don't need that garbage in your mouth. You can quit now!
