No, do not pierce the clit, too many nerves that can be damaged. It's the hood that is usually done, either vertically or horizontally. I've got a verticle hood piercing and love it. The pain when it's done is minimal and recovery is extremely fast. There is no bleeding. The night I had mine done we even had sex, carefully. Within a week it was healed. There's really no special care needed because oddly enough, peeing helps it to heal and keeps it clean.
IMO the best part of having the hood pierced is being able to just hold the barbell back as it exposes the clit really well...fantastic for oral and with vibrators. She will have to be careful using a vibe there at first though, the hood can get pinched inbetween the barbell and the vibe. She'll figure it out pretty quickly. LOL If she wears a dangling piece of jewelry (like the kind usually worn in bellybuttons) it's gonna feel awesome when she walks around without any panties on.

Barbell for a verticle hood piercing (which is what I recommend and what most women suggested when I was asking around) or if you have a horizontal piercing, then a hoop will work. I know one girl who first got the horizontal then she got the verticle so now she's got both.

It goes through both sides and misses the clit. They use a tool, kinda like mini tongs to pull the hood away from the clit during piercing.
You can do a search on google and you'll find some piercing sites with pictures.

I am thinking about getting mine done, maybe next month when i have the money for it, I got my Nipples and belly button done and it wasn't painfully at all. So i fugured i might as well get the Clit done you never know i might like it a lot. Good luck trying to convince your Girl.
