try to spend as much time in rio as possible... its possibly the greatest city in the world- just be CAREFULL... never take more stuff with you than absolutly necessary and investigate your hotel room to find any places anyone could break in. try to find the club 'help', you'll know why when you get there. as far as sao paulo goes, you can only have fun at night- its absolutly dead during the day. you're gunna love rio tho

There was a huge thing on the news about a half a year ago in which the entire US porn industry was shut down because of two guys went there for a few months to do some movies. Anyway, they contracted AIDS there and didn't know it and brought it back to their co-stars here in the states. Aids is rampant down there. Be very careful, bro.

Rio is supposed to be a great city, but as it was mentioned, watch out for yourself and the further you go inland the area starts to get more risky.
I haven't been myself, but had some plans to go down there and train for a month or so and spent a lot of time looking into it and speaking with friends and an ex-gf who were all from Rio.
