Actually a woman's nipples will get hard when aroused (or cold or stimulated or... and the list goes on) however, if the woman has had an orgasm the nipple actually goes soft and the areola around the nipple will expand.

Not all women respond the same. Some women's nipples don't get hard at all. So you can't go off of that.

True, I've actually seen some really strange ones that do not protrude at all, they are almost like an "innie" belly button. LOL There are numerous others to describe but they are all protruding so they have the "potential" to become hard.

It's saying the sking around the nipples tightens (capillary restriction) which gives the appereance of a farther protruding nipple.
