Ephedra, how long is too long

Ive been using ephedra products for close to a year now, pretty much non stop. I know most labels say discontinue after 12 weeks, I however typically will only take one pill before I work out just for energy, not 4-5 as they recommend for fat loss. Is this messing with my body in anyway long term? Am i ok doing what I have been doing or should i quit for a while.....thanks for any feedback...

trip is on a distinguished road
If you've been doing one pill a day rather than the four or five, IMHO, I'd say your probably okay.

Your dose would be equivalent to probably only 1-2 cups of coffee, which as we all know people do that for a life time.

The reccomended 12 weeks has to do with the dosage you said of 4-5 pills per day. What can happen if one doesn't take a break is you can overload the system, in reality it is a legal form of speed to generalize and what can happen is the adrenal glands work overtime and you end up stress the whole endocrine system, and eventually you burn up too much serotonin in the brain, which is our happy chemical. When you get low on serotonin it's depression time.

So, that's why 12 weeks is max reccomend, don't want to burn up serotonin and go into depression. Realize though this is a general guideline for safety purposes, they have to draw the line somewhere and they always use a mean average and with supps always on safe side.

So, again, you're probably fine.

Good Luck
