Good for you.

Good news is at your age, you should have very good healthy body still growing.

Few things to know:

1. It's all about consistency, if you don't put in the effort 4-6 days a week on diet and nutrition, well almost guaranteed not too happen, so whatever you try try something you can stick with

2. You will drop bodyfat if you expend more calories than you take in. At your age and height and weight guessing your basic metabolic rate is 2,500-3000 calories per day. What you want to do is eat approximately 500-700 calories below your basic metabolic rate, and then excercise away another 300 calories, over time 3-4 weeks your body should be shedding the fat

3. Too achieve this goal you are going to have too learn and try many different things, it is always best to do your own work, you are going to have learn how too count calories and log meals, no two ways around it, so you need to get a book about counting calories

4. And note, all of us are different so, what works for someone else might not work for you

5. Also wouldn't hurt too get blood work done, make sure your natural test level is in the range for your age, and your estrogen level is not out of whack.

Hoped That Helped
Good Luck

Ooh, that book is good for strength training if you have never done the excersizes before. To cut you should probably be eating really well and doing a heck of a lot of cardio. When you go to the gym, RUN, bike, do anything cardiovascular. Eat right!

my little piece of advice, and this is what i told myself all the time when i started out... over 7 years ago now....

Remember Rome wasnt built in a day! For the most part you will never see your results unless you take pictures. dont get discouraged because its not happening fast enough. just stick with it and be consistant.

Yeah every few months snap a few pictures, sometimes you wont notice a difference unless you have old pic's to reference

My tip:

Form and technique is everything. Just because your moving the weight dosn't mean your properly isolating the muscle. Try your best to keep the form. Which leads me to the number one rule of starting (and continuing) resistance training. Check your ego at the door. Everyone had to start somewhere.

Another thing, before you get sucked into the supplement world and start taking thermogenics and that sort of stuff, learn as much as you can about nutrition. Like the other guys already said, find a good book, do searches on this forum. There are some great posts about weighloss, counting calories, and nutrition in general. You will see better result if you know exactly what and why you are doing something. Good luck

I checked the posts about that... kinda made my head spin... this is going to suck, but the prospect of success makes me want to do it even harder...
