Is this a bad idea?

For a while now I have been thinking I should experiment to find what works best for me, in the training realm. I have had suggested workout programs that have worked for certain body parts and not others....and so on. First off I want to ask is it stupid if I change up the routine every week?

i don't think so, change is never bad. i've tried it before but it got a little annoying planning different workouts each and every week.

I bought a 1 year training log, which I write out my workouts on days off. I wil setup the next weeks workout on the weekend and yeah I change it up on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Try it out, it's a nice way notice your progress. You can even take pictures every few months and see the changes. Here's a link where i got it;

Idealy you should change your routine after few weeks so that your muscle dont get used to the same work outs. I tend to change my routine every 6 weeks followed by a 1 week of regeneration time when I do ACT training.

I have another question. I was sitting here trying to plan out what I want to do, thinking about how when I do back, I don't usually feel it the next day at all. I am not in the least sore, even when stretching. I was thinking I would do higher reps for the body parts that I don't feel the next day, and keep reps low for the stuff it seems to be working on.

Example:

Chest: 8-6 resp
Back: 10-12

Is that something I should be worrying about, should I keep the reps looking the same for each week?

Along with changing your routine I would def. change the reps up . As for myself I've never really been sore after doing back, I've pulled muscles a few times but never really be sore at all.

i always see u guys say oh i dont get sore , i think 99% of people in my gym get mad the next day if they are not sore, especiely me.. i think like oh man i didnt train hard enough, thats just my opinion. also imo im not a fan of changing every week unless its reps, u can def. change reps from week to week, but exercises? i dunno if thats worth trying. i.e : for chest theres like 6 exercises that are imo mandatory... flat bench, incline, decline, and then db incline delice and flat. u can do those for 3 months and just change poundage and reps and you`ll see great reesults

The main thing I am trying to find out is what reps are best for me. I can do 8 reps of a certain wieght for lat pd's, but I don't feel stronger even 2 or 3 times after. I think I've hit a plateau.
