don't forget the machine pullovers. they are only exercise that truley works the major lat muscles without too much outside influence from smaller muscle groups.

Wolverine
Let me suggest 5 simple exercises - sticking to meat & potatoes of Back : 1) Pullups (by far best), I get better result even if only do few, than doing pulldowns.; 2) Bentover Barbell Rows, over hand grip; 3) Heavy Dumbell Rows (8-10 reps) 4) Dumbell pullover, I know some preach this as chest exercise but it really stretches the lats out; 5) Deadlifts, Olympic style lift but gives the lower back muscle great burn that will that tight lower back look but to do Dead lift you must use strict & proper form. Another one is Straight arm pull downs that has tendency to work lower lats. But those are the meat & potatoes of my back workout.

wolverine got it pullups by far the best do them correct and they will grow so much you can fly. if you have a hard time with them i seen a machine at the gym that helps do them.
