Does anyone do decline chest?

Does anyone notice a difference from doing it? My uncle told me years ago don't bother with them, and he's a big guy. I do them but i don't notice any difference. Should I just do decline flies?

Yeah, I think you need to do decline to have a full looking chest, I've got a buddy who says the same but his chest is uneven because he doesnt do it. To get a full defined chest you need to do flat, incline and decline.

Switch it up, it's just hitting the chest at different angles. Variety in your workout will shown some nice results

Everyone is different. I didn't grow until I started doing declines! I read somewhere by Bill Pearl, I think... he said declines make the most effective chest exercise. He said to prove this do a simple decline chest movement without any weight and just standing up. Note the difference of chest expansion you get if you do declines vs. incline chest or flat bench? Your chest is harder when you do decline chest. Besides, you work chest with shoulders if you don't put the bench too verticle for presses. And you work chest with dips (as I do with triceps). I just remember when a workout partner and I would do incline chest my shoulders would be screaming and I wouldn't feel it in my chest.

The three different benches-incline, decline and flat are pretty much the same. pick one that feels comfortable for your genetic structure (shoulders and rotators) and stick with it. for me that is Incline Dumbell press. none of the other traditional bench presses feel comfortable with me. the chest has basically one function-adduction of the arm (bring it in towards the body). that is why flyes and cable crossovers are better in my opinion for mass because they conform more to the actual function of the chest. the other lifts can move more weight because of the tricep and shoulder function but it is also an indirect effect on the pectorals.

PS-don't listen to big guys, those are the ones that grow from looking at weights and never have to learn proper mechanics or theory of exercise. LOL
