Super sets to break through plateaus

So I've been a little under the weather lately and today was the first day I really felt up to an intense workout. Monday is bicep day and I felt like my whole workout has kind of leveled off a bit so I though about supersetting today's bi's.

What a good idea! My biceps got the best pump today. I think I'm gonna try this out with every body part this week and see how it feels. I've heard abput using super sets to break through plateaus before so I thought I'd 'give it a shot. Give that shit a whirl cuz it feels great.

Just another justification to change things up to consistantly to keep your muscles growing.

I like them once in a while but they are also an easy way to overtrain.

ski is on a distinguished road
They`re great, but I would only do them once in a while also, and not for every bodypart .

I tthink it`s better to SS smaller bodyparts like biceps with triceps as opposed to doing them just for bi`s alone.....good way to overtrain IMO.

I think the key to not hit a plateau is to always keep things changing. All my assistance exercises change atleast every 2weeks if not every week. I find that to be the best way to never level off

I only had three days to workout last week, so I superset back and bis. My bis haven't been that sore in a long time!
My supersets were definitely nonideal, so I don't need to be told that!
I superset
1. chest and shoulders
2. hams and quads
3. back and bis
and then threw in calves or abs after each one.

Supersetting sucks-I don't think I could do that very often. I was damn tired after that. I also felt like I couldn't give it all for any of the bodyparts.

Supersetting is not supposed to be easy. If you can't super set just two exercises, then you're out of shape. Also, you shouldn't super set two major compound movements, that can be counter productive. It's even better to super set either one large musc and one small, or two small ones.

Supersetting definitely takes a different kind of in shape cause my cardio routine consists of 6miles at 8.5mi/hr and I also bike about 30miles regularly, but supersetting leaves me far more winded than running or biking. I should probably make sure I'm breathing properly next time I superset.

I realize you shouldn't superset large muscle groups, but my time restrictions forced it. Thus my comment that those supersets were nonideal! I had never done that kind of superset before and hopefully won't ever again!

5 days a week

Mon - bi's only
Tues - chest
Wed - tri's and back
thurs - delts and traps
fri -rest
sat - 2nd chest
sun - rest

I work out for a max about 45min to 1 hr wed & thurs
30 min max on mon & tues & sat

I like to hit super sets and drop sets to get a harder pump sometimes, but I never do more that 10 to 15 sets per workout. I also like to rotate the exercises I do each week.

Yeah, but def. not as much as I should. I sprinkle leg sets throughout my week. calfs one day, quads two days later. little bit of hams.

I have really, really bad ankles and sometimes if I do too much on my feet, like helping someone move their shit, my ankles get fluid in them and it hurts like hell! I try to scale back my leg workouts so that I can maybe still walk when I'm like 60 yrs old... if I make it that far
