Every time I do my lower abs my hip flexors start burning before my lower abs do and I can't seem to finish my lower ab workout. I usually do hanging leg raises or lying leg lifts.

Dude, get ready for alot of advice about different ab routines. But the point is...if it hurts, don't do it.
You can do cable ab work or exercise ball work. They won't stree your hips as much. |

The only problem I have with my routine is lower abs. How would you do your lower abs with the ball or the cables?

Ball works better for lower. Exaggerate the extension on the way back and only go up about 50% before you go back down. Won't aggravate hip flexors.
