Deadlifts on same day?

When I train legs I do squats, leg press, and hack squats... I finally learned how do deadlifts correctly, and I want to do straight leg ones to hit my hamstrings more. But I don't really have anything left after I do the squats, leg presses and hack squats. Do you guys think I should split up hamstrings and quads to different days? Or do you have any other suggestions. I have stoped doing leg extensions because I am more concerned with putting on some more size first, and I was told that extensions were more for definiton?

Thanks for the help

Woody

I have done hams and quads separately now for awhile. I don't feel like I have enough left after hams or quads to do another major body part. I think it has paid off even though it complicates putting together an ideal training split.

Also, I disagree with the leg extension statement. I think extensions can definitely put mass on the quads. They may not be as efficient as squats but they will definitely aid in building mass.

For sure. Nothing hits the vastus medialus like the leg extensions. I agree with splitting quads and hams, I have and have never gone back.

sounds good to me, I will give it a try. Also thank you for your opinion on the extensions, I will give them a shot. BTW, how do you guys split them up, do you do quads and then hams on consecutive days?

I try not to do them on consecutive days because sometimes there is some overlap in exercises that hit both quads and hams, such as lunges. I try to keep them far apart-kinda like biceps and back. Pullups focus on back but hit biceps, too, so I keep them apart.

At least a day or so in between. Cause squats and leg presses still hit the glutes and the hams to a certain extent. I do quads on fridays and then hit hams and calves on sunday.
