To do or not to do cardio
As usual I was involved in another debate yesterday. So I bring it to you seeing I've been out of the game for a bit. Is pre-contest cardio today still a must? Or has diet and drugs been able to eliminate it completely? It's been close to 10 years since I last competed and cardio was mandatory pre contest. I personally didn't really know anyone who could get away with out doing it. Especially the majority of amateur level competitors. Am I correct in saying cardio is needed to be done to some extent? Obviously its dependant on the person but I am referring to the majority.

I don't know a pro who does not do cardio. Dexter used to not do it, but even he does it now and it has made a difference in how shredded he gets. I'd say cardio is an absolute must to get all areas shredded. I think you can get very lean without it, but to get all areas (weak points of some individuals) equally shredded, the cardio is important for mobilizing fat cells.
