Ultimate Diet 2.0 Questions

Rounding out my first week of UD 2.0 ... have a couple questions:

McDonald claims that the type of carbs during carb loading don't really matter as long as you hit your target total (g). Having dieted for so long without bread, dairy products, etc, this is a hard concept to swallow. Thoughts?

How much fat (g) on carb loading days? I know the material states 15% of cals, but the example used (50g) doesn't compute.

On Days 6 and 7, he suggests eating at around maintenance @ 60% carbs, 25% protein, and 15% fat. But, he then goes on to suggest "small amounts of complex carbs for the first half of the day." At my maintenance level (~3000 cals), that's ~400 g of carbs ... i would hardly call that 'small amounts.' Any advice here?

thx.
