Question Skull-crushers: form ok for a beginner?

in all seriousness... here's my girlfriend doing some skull-krushers for the first time today; and my question is, would you agree with me that the width between her arms is ok at this point in time, or would you push to bring them even closer together? also, i'm suggesting she go just beyond the top of head (like to her hairline) rather then to her forhead at this point until she feels more confortable with the movement.

I think it looks fine. The major thing that happens when one is going too heavy is their elbows have a tendency to drift out. Keep her elbows in and stable.

BTW, she is beautiful!

yea, i understand about them drifting out with heavier weight. i just forgot what my form was like years back when i started and wasn't sure if i should push her too hard to keep them close or just let her fall into proper form naturally. i'm suprised a lot of her proper form has come really naturally for her. when i started lifing weights back in high-school, i was like a loose noodle in the gym - LOL. and thnx for the compliment.

two things I think I see. Make sure her shoulders pretty much don't move. But that may be what you talking about with the drifting. Second just for the future. I'm not sure if it's a problem now, but as the weight goes up make sure she locks her feet under the bar that she has them proped on. This way she dosn't start lifting her body.

if she starts pushing enough weight to flip herself over (that'd be funny as hell to see), i'll be sure to look into locking her feet somehow. right now, they don't reach the floor, so she had to prop them up on that bar.

Yeah, it may not be a problem for her. Just from my training expirence and women who wanted to do these they tend to let there feet drift off the ground, so I would just stand on them during the exercise.

The only thing is, my feet don't touch the ground so I have zero balance. When I put my feet up on the bottom half of the bench the bench teeters from side to side like I'm on a rollercoaster. I don't have a lot of good remarks about the equipment, but I'm trying to do what I can with what I got...Maybe I can sit on the bench and lean back and do skull-krushers instead of laying down? Or maybe I can just put boxes under my feet so I have some stability

Boxes will give you a false sense of stability and probably collapse. If you have extra plates put a couple on each side, that should help!

You could also try them with db's. A little easier on the elbows. As you get more experienced, you could try positioning you elbows further back so that they aren't at a 90 degree angle, this will help keep tension on the tri's.

here hands are fine but like others said keep her elbows in even if it means less weight. also shes going straight up over her head there is to much relax time there have her push away towards you when your spottin her she will get a much better workout. and yes by the way very nice lookin girl.

if she scoots her body closer to the wall her feet still don't hit the floor? her legs look long enough

hands, arms look fine from what i can tell between the blur
