I thought this would be a nice start to a home gym....

http://www.newyorkbarbells.tv/84021.html

I just bought my first installment of dumbells. 5 pounders through the 45 pounders. Mostly those are for my wife since she doesn't want to go to the gym anymore. I think the above link I posted is good. I like the smith machine and its got a nice set of attacments so I can buy a free weight barbell and still squat and deadlift off the back of it. Then i will just have to import some fitness chicks to make my gym complete. :loveheart

You can be honest with us...we won't make fun of you!!

About the smith machine though, I prefer the smith machines that have a small angle, like this http://www.newyorkbarbells.tv/8458.html
I know it's a personal preference, but I find the small angle to be more anatomically correct or something.

BBAddict- I remember you have a pimp ass gym in your home. Do you feel like you can get amped working out alone though? The reason I ask is because I have a full gym in my apartment builiding--which is always empty--and every time I try to lift there I just can't summon any energy... Instead I go down the street to a university gym which is usually pretty populated and i can feed off that environment.

just wondering.

Yeah, my motivation is more for myself than others. I think I actually work out better at home cause I can wear whatever I want, play whatever music I want and workout without inhibition. If it hurts or to get that last rep, I can make whatever noises of agony or effort that I want. I don't have to worry about interfering with anybody elses workout or puking on their floor. It's just a lot easier in my own environment. Looking in the mirror and knowing where I wanna be is enough motivation on most days.
That being said, I did just join a Golds Gym just cause they have a bunch of Hammer Strength equipment, 150lb dumbells, and some cardio equipment. Another reason is cause it only costs me like $5/mo cause health insurance pays most of it.

It's health partners--they pay as long as I go 8x/mo, which wouldn't be a problem except that I have my home gym. I make it there often enough most of the time though.
