Leg Press Machines

My gym has these three different type machines for legs. The Maxicam:

http://www4.shopping.com/xPF-Maximus...line_Leg_Press

And this other machine the cybex leg machine:
http://ecybex.com/products/Strength/...adedIndex.aspx

And this last one:
http://www.pfc-fitness.com/index.cfm...eg%20Press.htm

I see most people use all of these machines when doing legs on the same day. To me these machine seem like they work the same leg muscles. Should a person only be using one of these machines on leg day.

Which one do you think gives a better overall leg workout if you should only use one.

Thanks

theres no need to do all three of those in the same workout. just use what ever one is most comfortable for you....notice i said whichever one is most comfortable, not which ever one is the easiest.

Thanks for the info everyone!

- Is there a guide line as to how close you should be up on the machines or how much your knees should be bent to start.

- Also does the angle of the back rest make any difference on the work out or is this just preference.

Thanks.

Whichever one feels the most natural to you. I mostly use leg presses as a warm-up before squats these days.

you definitely don't need to do all three. i've really only used the first and the last ones; I like the last one because I feel it doesn't make my hips roll under me when I go very heavy...with the top one, I'm in a slightly less comfortable position than if I were sitting straight up

rado can only hope to improve
I use all 3....It depends on what I'm doing that day as to what machine I use.

wat foot position does everyone use on leg press...ive seen guys with feet touching at the top doin 1inch reps and ive seen guys with feet wide toes pointing out crushing their torsos with the weight and lifting their asses off the thing...i keep mine about 4inches apart and let my legs come as far down as my gut will let them

I personally use about 3-4 different variations. Foot positions can be adjusted to focus on different things IMO.

feet closer together works on the outer sweeps of the quad, farther apart works the inner sweeps.... sometimes i'll load up the weight and do partial reps.. depending on what i need to work on

Vertical position of the feet can also transfer stress from the quads to the glutes/hams.
