left arm numbness/throbbing
My buddy wanted me to ask you guys a question.
When he is lifting heavy his left arm sometimes gets numb and throbs a little. Any ideas why? Also it seems like its on his first rep of each set. He can usually get the weight up and finish his reps. And its only on the chest and tri's day. This has been going on for about a month. He just now started to take it easy. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks |

its probably a shoulder impingement cause by weak rotator cuff muscles, upper lats, etc. strengthen these muscles and stretch to regain ROM. may disappear in 4-6 weeks. I would get a physicians referral for PT.
edit: the numbness is nerves, tendons, muscles being compressed. its very common. the biceps tendon can get inflammed over time making it painful. its basically a muscle inbalance. Last edited by NYCmitch25 : 03-26-06 at 04:05 PM. |
